8 ounces lo mein noodles or spaghetti
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
2 green onions, chopped
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste


Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, add minced garlic, sliced red and green bell peppers. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until peppers are slightly tender.

In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, and grated ginger.

Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, then add the cooked noodles and sauce mixture. Stir well to combine and coat everything evenly.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until heated through and the sauce has thickened slightly.

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.
