Where the spirit of Philly meets the comfort of home in every cheesy, savory slice! 🥩🧀🌱

Ingredients:

For the Meatloaf:

2 lbs ground beef
1 cup bread crumbs
1 large egg
1/2 cup milk
1 small onion, finely diced
1 green bell pepper, finely diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

For the Filling:

1/2 cup provolone cheese, sliced
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

For the Topping:

1/2 cup provolone cheese, sliced
Additional sliced bell peppers and onions for layering

For the Garnish:

Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions:

Preheat and Prepare:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a loaf pan.

Mix the Meatloaf Ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, milk, diced onions, diced green peppers, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

Form the Meatloaf Base:

Press half of the meat mixture into the bottom of the loaf pan.

Add the Filling:

Layer the provolone, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture in the loaf pan, leaving a little room around the edges.

Cover with Meat:

Place the remaining meat mixture on top of the cheese and press down to seal the edges, trapping the cheese in the center.

Bake the Meatloaf:

Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes.

Add the Topping:

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and drain any excess fat if necessary.
Lay the additional provolone slices over the top and arrange the extra sliced peppers and onions on top of the cheese.
Return to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes or until the meatloaf is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and starting to brown.

Rest and Serve:

Once cooked, remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving.
Serving Suggestion:
Slice the Philly cheesesteak meatloaf and serve with extra cheese, sautéed peppers, and onions if desired. Enjoy the taste of a classic Philly cheesesteak in a hearty, homestyle meatloaf form!
