Ingredients:

Cake:
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
4 large eggs
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons cotton candy flavoring extract
Pink and blue gel food coloring

Frosting:
3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2-3 tablespoons heavy cream
Additional cotton candy flavoring extract to taste

Decoration:
Cotton candy
Optional: Edible glitter or sprinkles

Directions:

Preheat Oven and Prep Pans:
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and flour three 8-inch cake pans.
Cream Butter and Sugar:
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add Eggs:
Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated before adding the next.

Combine Dry Ingredients:
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients:
Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Stir in the cotton candy flavoring.

Color the Batter:
Divide the batter into two bowls. Add pink food coloring to one and blue to the other. Mix until the colors are vibrant.

Bake:
Pour the batter into the prepared pans, alternating spoonfuls of pink and blue to create a marbled effect. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Make Frosting:
While cakes cool, beat together powdered sugar, butter, vanilla extract, and heavy cream. Adjust the consistency with more cream if needed, and flavor with additional cotton candy extract.

Assemble and Decorate:
Once cooled, level the cakes if necessary, then stack and frost. Top with a whimsical swirl of cotton candy and a sprinkle of edible glitter for that magical touch!
