Decadence in every square! ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ’ Fudgy brownies laced with juicy cherries, drizzled in luscious cherry sauce, and topped with a gleaming candied cherry. A sweet symphony of flavors! ๐Ÿคคโœจ

Ingredients:

For the Brownies:
1 cup (225g) unsalted butter
2 cups (400g) granulated sugar
3/4 cup (75g) cocoa powder
1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup (150g) dark chocolate chips or chunks
1 cup (about 100-150g) fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved

For the Cherry Sauce:
1 cup (about 100-150g) cherries, pitted
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1/4 cup (60ml) water
Juice of half a lemon

For Decoration:
Candied cherries (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions:
Preparing the Brownie Batter:
Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC). Grease and line an 8-inch (20cm) square baking pan with parchment paper.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar and cocoa powder until well combined.
Mix in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Combine the flour and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually fold into the wet ingredients until just incorporated. Avoid overmixing.
Fold in the chocolate chips and halved cherries gently into the batter.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading evenly.
Baking the Brownies:
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached. Be careful not to overbake to keep them fudgy.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
Making the Cherry Sauce:
In a small saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, water, and lemon juice.
Cook over medium heat until the cherries are soft and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 10-15 minutes.
Let the sauce cool, then blend it until smooth using a blender or food processor.
Assembling and Serving the Brownies:
Once the brownies are cool, lift them out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang.
Cut into squares or rectangles as desired.
Drizzle the cherry sauce over the brownies.
Decorate each brownie with a candied cherry on top.
Serve these decadent fudgy cherry brownies with a little extra cherry sauce on the side for an added burst of flavor. Enjoy your delightful treat!
